To understand this OVA, you must understand a few important things in order for the series to make any sense. Ariso Private High School Student Council Executive Committee is based on a highly slashable two volume manga written by Minekura Kazuya, the author of Saiyuki. There is a follow-up manga to the manga set in an alternate universe which is completely yaoi. This OVA is basically a warm-up for the Wild Adaptor series, and a bonus for fans of the series.

Ariso Private High School Executive Committee or Exec CT is a sort of day in the life of the main characters Kubata and Tohitoh. We meet them as they beat the torturers of a freshman. They are the enforcers of the school, part of the student council but answerable to no one except the President of the council. The premise is simple: there's going to be a school wide sports competition, and in order to control the troublemakers in the school the Student Council President puts Kubata and Tohitoh on the job. They proceed to kick ass.

Exec CT really does remind me quite a bit of a shonen anime. However, we are given little hints of "something" between the boys. One scene in particular, but whether it was fan service or something else, I honestly can't tell. Considering I read the manga first, I interpret it a little more like a joke because one of the running jokes in the manga was putting the main characters in very compromising situations, only for it to be explained away. Much of the back story was not explained, so you miss many of the jokes. And also, the OVA is just not as funny as the manga -- it refused to go as far out on a limb as the manga, and so a lot of the jokes falls flat, even if you do get the reference.

Overall Exec CT is an ok OVA, but only really if you've read and enjoyed the manga. Otherwise, it's a below average show with characters that aren't as likeable as you'd wish, and was much too short to enjoy.
