Billy's Hollywood Screen Kiss is a sweet and funny movie about a gay man who desperately seeks to find love and romance, but often ends up looking in the wrong places. Although it is merely a reworking of the traditional formulas of straight romance films, the result is charming, funny, and thoroughly enjoyable.

The story revolves around Billy (played by Sean Hayes, before he was cast as Jack on Will and Grace), a photographer who is familiar with romantic trouble and is, at the beginning of the film, stuck in a dead-end relationship with a man who already has another boyfriend. He soon meets and befriends a beautiful waiter, Gabriel, and finds himself falling for him. The problem is, Gabriel claims to be straight and has a girlfriend.

Billy asks Gabriel to model for a series of photos and the two soon find their friendship growing deeper and deeper. At the same time, Billy questions whether Gabriel is truly "staight". He ponders on the question and also repeatedly seeks the advice of his friends Perry and Georgiana.

What follows is a series of situations where the sexual tension between Billy and Gabriel is thick enough to be cut with a knife. There's even a yummy scene where the two share a bed and "accidentally" touch each other. Yet Billy finds himself in a difficult situation where he must decide whether his relationship with Gabriel is more than friendship and risk losing that friendship in the process.

The ending of Billy is different from what I expected, but it is satisfying nonetheless. I enjoyed the movie considerably, especially because I found Hayes' character thoroughly likeable. I was cheering him on during every second of the movie. I strongly recommend at least renting this movie; it's so cute!
