Selfish Love

I was a bit disappointed with this series for several reasons. First of all, the art is a bit too cartoony for my taste. Everyone's eyes are big and shiny, their hair is stick straight, and they're a bit too gangly with realllly long fingers. So they look kind of freaky.

The plot's not bad, if a bit thin. It's the characters that make the story less than bearable. Orito is obnoxious and overbearing, while Ryuya is angsty and spineless. I found myself wishing Ryuya would wind up with his best friend rather than let Orito repeatedly molest him.

The saving grace, sadly enough, are the short stories included in the first volume, which I enjoyed a lot more than the main story. They all carry the same theme of reluctance--No, no, wait, oh-yes!, but I don't mind that. There are some really hot sex scenes. Without those stories, I would have given this manga a C-. Not terrible, but not the best.
